How to Get Flawless Skin

When you first realize your skin doesn’t look as great as it could you have to understand that there is quite a lot of work involved with getting great skin. You have to stick to your routine because if you don’t then your skin’s appearance will start to slip too.

So where do you start? Well luckily it’s not as complex as you might think and it doesn’t have to cost the earth either. Here are the essentials for your skincare routine:
- Make-up remover- It is absolutely imperative that you never ever leave make-up on your face at night time. Your face will sweat (inevitably) and the bacteria will begin to build up in your pores causing break outs.
- Cleanser- Now this doesn’t have to be anything super expensive. You can be cleaning your skin with soap and you’re still cleansing. So don’t go running out and buying the next best product because the TV said so, just buy a good cleanser. Now there are some things you need to know about buying your cleanser, you need to have a neutral PH level. This will ensure that the oils in your skin become balanced and the soap won’t interfere with your skin. The best one I have found is Dove and it isn’t massively expensive when you buy the soap. It also leaves your skin feeling (and smelling) lovely.
- Exfoliate- You will need something to exfoliate your skin with, again it doesn’t have to cost the earth and you only need to exfoliate two or three times weekly. I find that anything with peach stones in is great because it really invigorates.
- Toner- Toning your skin makes it look supple and toned (surprisingly!) It is as straightforward as it sounds and it’s imperative that you do it if you want your skin to glow.
- Day/Night cream- I have quite oily skin so I only use moisturizing cream at night to avoid excessive moisture getting into my skin but if you feel that you can use both it would be better for you. I use a bog standard vitamin E cream that I bought from Avon for very little money. It feels fantastic too.
- Vitamins- You do need vitamins! They are the difference between OK looking skin and fantastic looking skin. In addition to a regular multivitamin I would suggest vitamin A, vitamin C and cod liver oil. This combination will make your skin your best feature!
- Water, water and a little more water- The key to any purification is water and in removing dead skin cells, black heads, zits and spots you need to detox your skin. The way to do this is to flush out all of the impurities that are lurking in there and give your pores a chance to breathe!
- Optional antiperspirant- If (like me) you sweat a lot on your face, you may want to consider a powder based antiperspirant. Excessive sweating will cause breakouts and that just makes things worse!
You can also increase your fitness level, avoid junk food and fizzy drinks, eat plenty of raw fruit and vegetables and avoid Soy. Many people have reactions to soy which cause constant breakouts regardless of their skin routine. If you find that no matter how much you stick to your routine you are still having breakouts it could be that you need to change your products because they’re not good enough or you’re allergic to them. If you change your products and still breakout I’d advise avoiding soy because that’s probably the reason for it.
For moisturizing the rest of your body I would suggest you use something with Shea butter in it because it has great results.

Well written. Not the sort of article I’d normally read, but found it very informative.
