Spring is here and it will soon be time to go to the pool. We all love a golden summer tan but sunshine is dangereous and aging to the skin. So how about a fake tan. We can look beautiful and golden at the pool and not expose our skin to the danger and aging of the sun. Here’s how to get that beautiful tan without the danger.

How to get that wonderful sunny glow with make-up and a few simple techniques.

With a little help from the latest bronzers, shimmers and self-tanners you can have a beautiful fake sun kissed skin. A few simple techniques and tools will help you look great whether you are going for the bronzed look or you simply want a brighter complexion.

For a brighter look, gently exfoliate two to three times a week- any more and you risk irritation

Choose moisturizers with words like “illuminating” and “radiance” right on the package.

Stay hydrated and moisturize morning and night. Dry flaky skin will not reflect light.

The following are very good make-ups to get the bronze look:

good information, but I prefer to stay pale because fake tan always seems to have a odd smell.

I have always found self bronzers have a odd smell so I don’t bother too much with them but you do need to be careful in the sun. A very good article.

Great article. I am white as a sheep, so these are great alternatives for me since I rarely get to go outside in the sun.

Good tips but I never liked the fake tanners but maybe a spray tan would be good. I swim a lot in the summer and work in my yard. I use a good sunblock with a SPF of 50 or more, I don’t burn and usually have what my husbands calls a little summer color but I don’t really try to tan.
