Facial for Brilliant, Toned Skin

Facial recipe using natural ingredients for beautiful skin.

Is beauty only skin deep? I certainly hope not. With all the commercial and homemade facials listed on the internet, it would be a shame if we scrubbed and peeled our beauty right off. In particular, there are thousands of recipes on cucumber facials and peels. My favorite facial recipe, and of course one of the easiest, is to use one peeled/deseeded cucumber with one tablespoon of yogurt. Mix the two ingredients in a blender until they reach a smooth consistency and then apply the concoction on your face for about 10 minutes, removing with warm water.

Cucumbers and skin have the same level of hydrogen, which aids the facial mask in getting the skin soft and smooth. The cooling effect of the beneficial cucumber also helps to reduce inflammation of the skin. Additionally, the cucumber helps to revitalize the skin and tightens the pores. Cucumber is especially good for oily skin.

The lactic acid and enzymes in the yogurt helps with skin cell exfoliation and is a natural skin brightener. The ph balance of yogurt makes it a very mild cleanser. This facial recipe would be the perfect choice for all of us older adults aiming for a youthful appearance.

Adding other ingredients such as egg whites, olive oil, or turmeric to the recipe increases the benefits of the facial. Egg whites help to tighten large pores and is great for a lackluster complexion. Olive oil is rich in proteins and vitamins and soothes acne. While turmeric is a natural moisturizer. So whether you use the cucumber/yogurt facial by itself or add other natural ingredients to the recipe, you can keep your skin brilliant and healthy.

Great tips and engaging writing style! I usually use an egg white mask about once a week and an aspirin mask every other day, but I’ll give your cucumber yogurt one a try. :)
