By making diligent use of some common items present in your refrigerator and pantry, acne can be surely treated at your home.

The Remedies for Acne Present in Your Home

You need not to move from pillar to post to clear your skin, just make use of the below mentioned natural remedies for better and long lasting results:

  • Tea-Tree Oil: Apply a drop of tea-tree oil with a cotton swab on the blemishes three times a day. This helps in preventing infection and speeding the healing process as recent researches have shown that tea-tree oil is 5% more effective in dealing with acne as against benzoyl peroxide solution due to its antibacterial properties. You can leave the oil under your makeup or apply it throughout the day on the affected spots.
  • Baking Soda: Inflammation and breakouts resulting from acne can be eliminated with the help of baking soda. This property also helps baking soda to diminish acne marks and old scars. Mix two teaspoons of baking soda with lukewarm water to make a paste.  Apply this paste on your skin only for five to ten minutes during the first few days of its use as it might feel too overwhelming. This time period can be gradually increased up to an hour or the whole night afterwards.
  • Coconut Oil: With antibacterial and antifungal properties, coconut oil helps in the reduction of redness and treating acne. Gently apply the coconut oil on the affected part and massage the area well to allow the oil to seep well into the pores of the skin. Reapply the oil nearly three times a day.
  • Egg White: Here it isn’t at all about eating eggs, but rather using egg whites as a natural remedy against acne in the form of facial mask! In addition to taking out impurities, egg whites decrease oil content and diminish pores. Simply separate the yolk from the egg white, use a cotton swab to apply the egg white on your skin and leave it as such for ten minutes to one hour
  • Garlic: Being a natural antibacterial, garlic is both healthy (when ingested) and skin friendly. Thinly slice a clove of garlic into several pieces and rub them on the affected area. Make sure that the garlic juice is distributed evenly throughout the affected skin. Leave on for half an hour..
  • Cornstarch: Due to its soothing and gentle nature, cornstarch is an effective remedy in case of acne accompanied by irritation and redness. Either apply the cornstarch on the affected area or the whole face and leave it overnight.

All the above mentioned methods will surely help in getting rid of pimples but you need to be consistent in their use for the desired results.
