Smoldering Shimmery Makeup Featuring Everyday Minerals
A look for when you’re wanting just a touch of drama.
Last month, I purchased an eyeshadow sample kit from Everyday Minerals. And though I’m just now getting around to doing some tutorials with the stuff, I highly recommend checking them out. For $17, you can pick ten different shades of eyeshadow, which is awesome. The colors featured in this tutorial are Happy Go Lucky, Well Being, Floating Feathers, and Black Eyeliner. Happy Go Lucky is one of their Pearl shades, Well Being and Floating Feathers are Shimmer shades, and Black Eyeliner is a Matte shade. I also applied my eyeshadow before my foundation, so I wouldn’t have to worry about fallout on my cheeks. I usually apply foundation first, but since Well Being is a darker shade, I didn’t want to press my luck.
Start with a clean face, moisturize your skin and apply your lip balm. I used Neutrogena Fresh Moisture, and Softlips.
After waiting a couple minutes for your moisturizer to soak in, apply your primer to your eyelids. I am using Urban Decay Primer Potion.
You can apply initially with the wand if you want, but you will need to blend with your fingers.
Make sure it’s all blended in, so it looks like this. Ignore the cat…
Let your primer dry just briefly. While my primer was setting, I decided to fill in my brows.
Now that the primer is set, it’s time to begin applying your eyeshadow. I’m starting with just a little bit of Happy Go Lucky on my lids.
After that, apply some Well Being to the outer third of your eyelid, winging it up slightly.
Blend so that you have a smooth gradient.
And now it’s time to apply your highlighter to your browbone. I am using Floating Feathers.
You can also apply a little in your inner corner to brighten up the look.
Blend well.
Apply black eyeliner pencil. I’m using a NYX pencil, but any black will do. I used a pencil first to give the Everyday Minerals eyeliner something to stick to. You can apply it alone too for a softer look.
Next of course, you apply the Black Eyeliner Powder on top of the pencil with a liner brush. I also applied it to my lower lashline without any pencil underneath, because I prefer a less intense line under my eyes.
Other than mascara, your eye makeup is complete at this point.
If you use mineral foundation, like I do, apply that before your mascara so you don’t get any light powder falling into and sticking to your lashes.
Apply your mascara, and a bit of lip gloss if you’d like. I’m using e.l.f. gloss in sugar plum.
And you’re done!
Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for reading!
