Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal is an eye liner pencil available in most drugstores. But is it of any good? To know the answer to this question, read the review given below!

Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal is my first eye liner pencil. In the past, I went for the sticks only. I actually bought the Kajal in a hurry. It was supposed to give me touch up before a presentation I had to do for a class. When I first used it I got a good result because over it, I was already wearing my regular eye liner. By and by, I started using it. Now let’s find out if it is a good product.

As mentioned before, this is my first eye liner pencil. The experience has overall turned out to be good because this is the first time I have figured out that pencil color is more long lasting over the eyes than its liquid and stick versions. The Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal shade which I have is called Jet black. A positive thing about it is that it is as dark as the black liquid eye liner and it really does not scream. I do not consider myself a great makeup artist, but I must say that the arcs I draw over my eyes with them make me feel like a professional. It is just that the color and strokes leave the eye makeup aesthetically dramatic. This is basically the biggest plus point of Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal. Even for the waterline it does a great job. Strangely enough, the strokes do not make the eyes teary. Another great thing about it is its price which is usually less than $8.

Does it have any disadvantages? Unfortunately, yes! The pencil loses power over glittery or heavily powdered eye makeup. The arcs turn out to be too light. So not only reapplication becomes necessary, but also a little bit of sharpening. Additionally, a lighter force is required to get a darker shade from the pencil. Failure to do so results in softer and foggier shade. Another problem that this product carries is leaving powder like residues below the eyes.  Last, the eyelids do feel heavy underneath this Kajal. I must admit that I do not have problem with it, but those who like lighter makeup should avoid it.

Overall, Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal is great for embellishing the eyes. The dramatic look it gives at cheaper price is worthy of praises. Meanwhile, its pigments last for hours. But again, it is not hassle free. The residues and its failure to work on certain eye shadows just cannot be ignored. Because of all this, it deserves 3 out of 5 stars. But this just my point of view. Feel free to use the comment box below to let us all know whether you have enjoyed using this eye liner.
