It’s time to treat yourself to a new makeover. Try mineral make up for a healthier alternative. It’s not only good for your face, it’s good for the rest of you too.
Maybe it’s time to go au naturale. Ditch your chemical laden blushes and eye shadows and look into something healthier Try mineral based cosmetics. Treat your face to something that not only makes it look it but is good for it.
In the past few months I found out that most of my regular cosmetic brands have at least one kind of paraben in them. Many have as much as four including isoparaben and propylparaben used as binders to keep the item’s ingredients together. These are known to be one of the causes of breast cancer. Since I didn’t want to put one more risk in my path. I threw out everything , from the expensive blushes to the dime store mascaras. I did a quick Google search and found a few companies specializing in all natural, mineral make up. Luckily I discovered some really great ones right off the bat.
The Texas based Everyday Minerals and the Alabama based Signature Minerals are probably the two best places to buy mineral makeup. The first has a mind blowing array of all sorts of blushes, foundations, concealers and eye shadows. You can create your own sampler kits with these. The blushes and shadows have cute names like New Car Smell and Bubble Tea. You can buy any Everyday Minerals product in three sizes from large to sample sized. The colors are long lasting on your skin. They also add sparkle to your overall. look. Every time I wear their blushes and bronzers I get instant compliments. I have never ever had that happen in all my years of wearing make up. The eye shadows are great too making eyes pop. Everyday Minerals also sells all natural lip gloss in a balm form. I have four of them in different shades and love the subtlety of the colors. The company also has a small range of body butters and soaps. I’m a big fan of the first that are great skin soothers. All mineral cosmetic companies sell fabulous brushes and EM is no exception. I bought an excellent concealer brush here that is perfect with their concealers.
The customer service is super helpful and the company gets you your stuff in about two to three days. The shipping and handling aren’t bad considering today’s costs and there is an excellent return policy .
Unfortunately Everyday Minerals doesn’t make eye liners, mascara, and primer. For that I had to try Signature Minerals . I found this as a pop up ad and thought “Why not?”, The company has a vast array of other mineral cosmetics as well. I love their mascara and the face primer the best. Not too many companies put out a mineral mascara and I was almost giddy at finding Signature Minerals. I also bought their excellent face primer – a must if you are wearing mineral make up out to dinner or to work. This smoothes over the skin and creates a satiny feel , perfect for dusting on powders. I also like their Petal Pink blush which I use as a foundation. It’s light baby pink but when it’s on the skin , imparts a rosy glow.. The company also has goat’s milk soaps and bath products. One day I will try these. SM has a line of their own brushes and I love their baby Kabuki brush, perfect for travel. Another must are their blending jars and set of mini scoops for creating your own colors.
There are other companies worth mentioning in this article. Elf or eyeslipsface has excellent mineral shadows and blushes as well. They’re intense and long lasting. I recommend colors such as envy – a deep green and wild which make perfect eye liners too. All of elf’s make up brushes are only a dollar so buy as many as you can here. For mascara I have also bought Cellulose from Bren Cosmetics and Zuzu. All are paraben free and deliver the same look as regular mascaras (this was before I discovered Signature Minerals’ mascara). Mineral based lipstick is a hard find. The only good company is Mineral Glo, albeit they are expensive. Their lip colors are intense and pack the same punch as any department store ones. However because they are high in price (as are all other Mineral Glo products) I will treat myself only for my birthday and for
Christmas. Alba is another great brand. I bought their tinted lip balm which works just like lipstick as well as their all natural moisturizer. This last is wonderful and is better than any other lotion I’ve used.
It’s time to go au naturale, ladies . Get rid of those unhealthy department store brands and switch to mineral cosmetics. You’ll not only be doing your face a favor but your whole entire body.
