Skin with dull, caked-on makeup makes you look older, no matter what your age. If you want to look younger and fresh, it’s time to lighten up with your makeup colors.

Here are some makeup tips to help you achieve a fresh new look that will take years off your face.

Start with a multi-shade concealer. Your facial skin is not all the same tone and your concealer shouldn’t be either. Purchase concealer that comes in several different shades so you can mix as needed to conceal what needs concealing. Red blotches are best concealed with a green toned concealer, purple skin blotches are concealed best with a pink or peach toned concealer.

Toss the flat, matte finished makeup foundation and get a lightweight, creamy, moisturizing foundation that will give you a dewy fished for a younger look.

Use pink blush to top off the dew-kissed foundation and make your skin glow.

Lining your eyes with harsh, black eyeliner can make you look dated and older, try shimmering pearl blue eyeliner that will perk up your eyes by making the whites of your eyes appear brighter. Trade the black mascara for a dark blue too, and go for a mascara that will really give your eyelashes a boost by thickening and elongating them. That will really open up your eyes and camouflage droopy eyelids.

Choose a shimmering. light reflecting color for your eye shadow. Go with a light taupe shade instead of dark browns that make dark under-eye circles more prominent.

Finish off the younger and fresh look with a light shade of shimmering lip gloss, instead of a dark, heavy lipstick. A dark lipstick will make lip lines more prominent, whereas a light lip gloss will enhance your lip pout and make lips appear fuller.
