Five All Natural Facial Masks

Five homemade facials masks made of all natural ingredients.

  1. Honey Facial Mask - Honey has many soothing and relaxing properties that relieve anxiety and stress. This is a facial mask recipe featured on my other article The Many Uses of Honey. To make mask:
    1. Mix 4 tablespoons of honey, 2 eggs, and a few tablespoons of flour depending on the desired thickness.
    2. Stir the mixture until it thickens.
    3. Apply to face; it can also be used as a hand and body lotion.
                                              
  2. Cucumber Facial Mask – Cucumber soothes and moisturizes skin instantly. It can also treat skin conditions and fix problem areas of the skin. To make mask:
    1. Puree half of a cucumber in a blender.
    2. Mix in 1 tablespoon plain yogurt.
    3. Apply to face and leave for 30 minutes.
    4. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.
                                       
  3. Oatmeal Facial Mask – Oatmeal has proven effective in treating dry or oily skin, blemishes, acne, sunburns, and irritation. The natural oats soothe the skin, deep cleanse and open pores, hydrate the skin, and gently scrubs and exfoliates. To make mask:
    1. Mix 3/4 cup dry oatmeal with 1/3 cup warm water until a smooth sticky paste is formed.
    2. Spread on face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
    3. Leave mask on until it dries.
    4. Wash mask off with warm water then cold.
    5. Pat face dry with wash cloth and apply moisturizer.
                                             
  4. Brown Sugar and Milk Facial Mask – Brown sugar and milk will prove to be a moisturizing and relaxing facial mask that will leave your skin refreshed and silky. To make mask:
    1. Place 2 tablespoons of brown sugar into a cup.
    2. Slowly add milk until mixture is still slightly thick, but a little soupy.
    3. Apply to face and scrub gently.
    2. Leave on for 5-10 minutes then wash off with warm water.
                                             
  5. Apple Facial Mask – Apples are rich in vitamins that get rid of blemishes, lighten and even out skin tone, combat the aging process, and rejuvenate the outermost layer of skin cells. To make:
    1. Cut a ripe peeled apple into cubes, setting aside the core and peeling.
    2. Put the apple cubes into a blender and blend until pureed.
    3. Add 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 tablespoon of sage and mix thoroughly.
    4. Refrigerate for 10 minutes.
    5. Wash face with warm water then apply mask.
    6. Leave on for 20 minutes or until dry then wash/ peel off.
