Behind dear, radiant skin is most likely a great foundation. The good news is there`s a swathe of new hi-tech bases to save you from blotchy results. All you have to do is learn the tricks to make your maquillage stay put. I will show you how it works.
Scrub
Start with super-clean surface. Foundation tends to grab onto dry patches, which will give a flaky finish. After cleansing, use a mild scrub to rid skin or any dry, dead cells.
Primer
Follow with an emollient-rich moisturizer or primer that contains sunscreen and antioxidants, which will help “hold” make-up. This will also stretch the lifespan of the foundation. Apply a light layer all over the face and leave to absorb a minute or two before foundation. If you want a sheer finish, skip foundation and use a tinted moisturizer instead.
Foundation
Finding the right shade is the key to a flawless finish. Ask for samples from make-up counters and test the shade at home under natural light before you buy. The right colour should disappear into skin. Dab foundation where you need it – over scar or blotchy spots – and blend it well. Though fingers are great tools, they can leave oil on your face, which actually dissolves make-up. Use a make-up brush or span instead.
Concealer
Use a concealer brush to cover up spots and conceal redness around the sides of nose. No concealer brush? A lip brush will do just as well. For undereye circles, dot on concealer under eyes and blend it with a brush for and even finish. If eyes still look hired, brighten it up with a highlighter.
Powder
To set both foundation and concealer, finish off with a light dusting of loose powder applied with a big fluffy brush. Be sure to tap off the excess as too much powder can actually “settle” into fine lines accentuating them.
