Killer Tips on How to Use Perfume Effectively

There are many people out there who use perfume and misuse it at the same time. Some overdo it. Others don’t use the appropriate scent for them. Does this really matter? Well, in many situations, yes!

For perfume lovers and aficionados out there, the following tips should help you and the people around you achieve maximum satisfaction from the scent that you prefer:

  1. It’s important for you to always use the right amount on your body. This will depend on the strength of the perfume you’re using. If you’re using a concentrated solution, a few sprays would do. The ideal strength of perfume on your body is that it should not be smelled for more than 6 to 7 feet. If the smell goes beyond that limit, it starts being offensive for people who happen to sit or stand close to you.
  2. Spray your perfume on the right places. Some people make the mistake of spraying their perfume on the armpits. This messes up with their deodorant and the result is an unexplainable smell due to the mixture of two chemicals which have two different functions. Learn never to mix your perfume with your deodorant and you’ll be better off (especially when sweat adds to the mixture later in the day). The best places to rub or spray your perfume is your pulse, neck, and back of the ear. Others love to place a little perfume scent on their chin, which causes an additional appealing smell each time they are talking to someone. Some women who have the intention to attract someone from the opposite sex and engage in intimate moments may also use seductive perfume on the cleavage and in between the thighs. Umm, you know what I mean.
  3. The key is to use perfume that you personally love. The brand and the price of a particular perfume don’t really matter firsthand. Even if it’s the most expensive brand in the world, you’ll never be able to project confidence and style if you don’t personally love and adore that scent. So choose a scent that you are strongly and wholeheartedly attracted to.

I work in a call center. When you get too many different fragrances there it smells overwhelming and many suffer from migraines. (I’m one) Fragrances that are loved by one may not be loved by all, especially when they get mixed with all the other scents, such as deodorant, as you mentioned.

Thanks for writing this. I’d like to post this at work, but I won’t steal your work. lol

    Thank you.

I would like to add, “DO NOT USE IT ON AIRPLANES”!

some people are extremely smell sensitive, and the use of perfume can really bother them, its the same way we want people who smoke to not blow it in our faces, we need to remember that other things have smells to..

I have to agree with what B Nelson wrote, and thank her for passing this on to me. I am one who is very smell sensitive, and some times women over do it. I think they become imune or insensitive to the scent so over do it because it takes more for them to notice since they are use to smelling it.

Women take note: Dont over do it!

Just wear perfume under your arms without deodorant. If you wash your armpits and put the perfume on clean armpits you will smell great all day!
