Follow these three simple steps to help reduce ingrown hairs.

Any sensitive areas are very prone to ingrown hairs. Ingrown hairs vary in looks, they can be small and easy to remove or they can be big, red and very sore. Those are the ones you should not pick as it could and may spread. A lot of people mistake them for pimples as they sometimes have a whitehead. But not everybody gets ingrown hairs. Some people are just more prone than others, but you can follow these simple steps to help reduce ingrown hairs.

1) Exfoliate in circular motions using an exfoliating glove as it’s stronger. By exfoliating the top surface of the skin, the ingrown hairs will come out easier. If the ingrown hair is swollen, avoid exfoliation. Do not use a shower sponge to scrub as it’s too gentle.

Always exfoliate once or twice a week after epilation.

2) Use ingrown cream or gel on prone areas as this will help prevent or reduce it.

These products works by drawing the hair out making it easier to extract.

3) After shower and exfoliating, always apply moisturizer on the area to keep it soft and hydrated. This is an important step in the first 2 weeks of epilation.
