Essential: Handbags and Their Essentials
The handbag… the main accessory we could never live without. From large bucket bags to the tiniest of clutch purses, these have to be every woman’s best friend: they can make us look chic, coordinated and add that little extra something to any outfit. Not to mention we feel naked without them. With handbags – or purses as they are known in the USA – available in every imaginable size, colour, shape and fabric, it is no wonder the majority of us have more than three. So what is it about this simple item that makes life seem unbearable without it? Simple: we carry our lives in our handbags.
Those of us who have ever found ourselves in the unfortunate situation of losing our handbags know quite how devastating it can be. We grow attached. We grow to love the nicks that appear in the fabric. We love how they look and how they make us look. And, they provide a safety net for awkward or uncomfortable moments; if ever one of these appears we can busy ourselves with rustling our way through the bottomless pits. This is why misplacing them is so tragic – and this is without mentioning the many several items contained within that we lose along with it.
When we are young and we buy our very first handbag, we feel grown-up. We play at being women and anything and everything gets thrown into them: sweet wrappers, school notebooks, boys’ phone numbers. As teenagers, we totally abuse our new best friends but, as we get older, we learn exactly what a handbag can do: In short, a handbag can take care of us and ensure we never face – or at least decreases the chance of us ever having to face – one of those embarrassing moments of being caught off-guard – if we fill them with the right essentials…
Cater for every possibility, every situation, and fill your handbag with everything we shouldn’t be without! For those of you carrying clutch bags, work from the top of the list and work your way down!
