Here are some tips on how to make brushing your daughter’s hair go much smoother.

Although there are some little girls who love having their hair brushed, many do not enjoy it at all. In fact, many moms have a very hard time brushing and styling their child’s hair. Here are some tips on how to make the process go somewhat easier.

Use a Detangling Product

One of the main reasons that many children do not enjoy having their hair brushed is because of tangles. The best way to prevent this from being a problem is to use a detangling product or leave-in conditioner. It will make the hair much more manageable and will not provoke as much pain.

Keep Her Hair Short

Long hair can be really beautiful for a young girl. However, keeping your daughter’s hair short is one of the best ways to ensure that brushing it will go a lot smoother. Keep in mind that the longer that the hair is, the more knots there are likely to be.

Comb Hair While it’s Wet

It is much easier to run a comb through wet hair than to try to get a brush through dry hair. Combing hair while its wet is another one of the best ways to prevent your daughter from experiencing a lot of pain. Even if you have to go back and brush it later on, this is a good way to get out some of the tangles with ease.

Be a Creative Parent

When brushing your little girl’s hair, it is a good idea to be as creative as possible. Tell your daughter that the detangling product you are using is really fairy dust, or come up with a fun game that involves brushing the hair – such as the “pretty princess game.” The difference that creativity can make is really unbelievable.

Use Fun Hair Accessories

Little girls absolutely love hair accessories. Whether you find hair clips with butterflies on them or a headband with all of her favorite Disney characters, hair accessories can really make all the difference. Adding hair accessories to your child’s hair is likely to encourage your child to want to have her hair done more often.

Allow Your Child to Help

Encouraging your child to help you do her hair is one of the best ways to make the process go a lot easier. Children really love to help out. It is likely that your little girl has probably wondered why she could not do her own hair before. Allowing your child to help is one of the best ways to prevent her from crying, squirming, or yelling about getting her hair done.

As you can see, there are a number of things that you can do in order to encourage your child to allow you to do her hair on a regular basis. By doing all of the things mentioned above, it is likely that you will be able to have a very easy time when it comes to doing your daughter’s hair.
