Finding a hairdresser that can make your hair look its best can be a frustrating experience. Here are some tips for helping you to find the best hair stylist for your hair.
Do you go from hairdresser to hairdresser in frustration looking for the haircut that’s right for you hair? Why is it so hard to get the hair cut you’re looking for? It can be difficult finding the right hairdresser among the myriad of choices available. Plus, we sometimes have unrealistic expectations as to what can be done with our hair as well as difficulty communicating what it is we actually want.
Fortunately, there are some steps you can take to increase the chances of getting the haircut you’re looking for. Here are some suggestions:
-
Choose The Right Hair Stylist
To find a good hair stylist, don’t just open the yellow pages and choose the prettiest ad. Spend a day shopping at your local mall. Study the hair cuts of the women who work behind the counters in boutiques and makeup departments. When you see a hair cut you like, ask the person where she got it cut and who cut it. Most women will be pleased and flattered to share this information.
-
Set Up a Consultation with a Hair Stylist Before Scheduling a Hair Cut
The best approach to getting a great hair cut is to spend 15 minutes talking with a stylist to see if you can work together successfully. Make sure there’s good communication between the two of you and you share the same philosophy on hair. If a stylist refuses to take the time to do this, you probably should reconsider using her services.
-
Learn How to Communicate Successfully With Your Stylist
Be specific when you talk to your hair stylist. .Let her know exactly how much hair you want cut. For example, “Please don’t cut more than one inch from the length”. Most of the problems you encounter with hair stylists arise from poor communication. Make sure you both understand exactly what you want done before she starts the hair cut.
-
Choose Your Appointment Time Wisely
Studies have shown the best time of day to get a hair cut is between 8:00 am and 9:00 am in the morning. Usually, stress levels are lowest in the salon at this particular time of day and your hair stylist will be able to spend more time with you.
-
Bring Along Photos of the Look You Want
Photos are a great way to let your hair stylist know the exact hair style you want. Take some time to cut photos of looks you like from fashion and hair style magazines before going for your appointment. Be realistic. You may not have the hair texture for every style you admire in a magazine.
-
Be Open and Receptive
Sometimes your hair stylist knows best. Your hair texture or facial shape may not compliment the hair cut you want. Really listen to what she has to say. If she doesn’t want to do a particular cut, she probably has your best interests in mind.
-
Watch Closely How She Styles Your Cut
The way a new cut is styled can make a difference in how it looks when you get home. Watch carefully as your stylist dries and shapes your hair. Which hair care products does she apply? What hand movements does she use? You want to be able to reproduce these steps at home.
-
Buy The Necessary Hair Styling Products Before You Leave The Salon
Make sure you have the hair care products you need to recreate you new look at home. There’s nothing more frustrating than not being able to reproduce a fantastic hair style.
If you want a beautiful hair cut and a good relationship with your hair stylist, give these suggestions a try. Then, get prepared for beautiful hair!
