Simple Healthy Hair Tips
Here are the personal tips I do with my hair.
- Wash your hair in warm water and rinse it in cool water.
- Use shampoos with natural ingredients. You can check your health food store.
- Don’t apply shampoos or conditioner directly from the bottle. Pour a small amount into the palm of your hand, dilute it with a little water, and then apply it.
- You don’t need to wash twice with most shampoos. Washing once will protect the healthy oils in your scalp and on your hair.
- Use a large, thick-toothed comb to comb conditioner through your hair. These helps to distribute the conditioner evenly from top to tip.
- Rinse out conditioner thoroughly or your hair will be heavy and oily.
- Dry your hair by wrapping it in a towel instead of rubbing it, pulling it or wringing it.
- While your hair is wet, comb it gently working from the bottom up.
- Protect your hair from the sun and the wind, which will dry it. You can wear a hat when it is windy and pull your hair back or braid it when it is sunny.
- Wear bathing cap when swimming in a chlorinated pools.
- Rinse your hair right away after swimming in the ocean.
- Avoid or go easy with hair dyes, bleaches and perms. They will eventually make your hair dull.
- Dry your hair naturally. The constant use of blow dryers, hot combs and heated rollers will make your hair dull.

Thanks for the great tips! I especially like #13. I’ve been trying to wean myself off my straightening iron for a few days each week, and it’s really making a difference!
