Simple Healthy Hair Tips

Here are the personal tips I do with my hair.

  1. Wash your hair in warm water and rinse it in cool water.
  2. Use shampoos with natural ingredients. You can check your health food store.
  3. Don’t apply shampoos or conditioner directly from the bottle. Pour a small amount into the palm of your hand, dilute it with a little water, and then apply it.
  4. You don’t need to wash twice with most shampoos. Washing once will protect the healthy oils in your scalp and on your hair.
  5. Use a large, thick-toothed comb to comb conditioner through your hair. These helps to distribute the conditioner evenly from top to tip.
  6. Rinse out conditioner thoroughly or your hair will be heavy and oily.
  7. Dry your hair by wrapping it in a towel instead of rubbing it, pulling it or wringing it.
  8. While your hair is wet, comb it gently working from the bottom up.
  9. Protect your hair from the sun and the wind, which will dry it. You can wear a hat when it is windy and pull your hair back or braid it when it is sunny.
  10. Wear bathing cap when swimming in a chlorinated pools.
  11. Rinse your hair right away after swimming in the ocean.
  12. Avoid or go easy with hair dyes, bleaches and perms. They will eventually make your hair dull.
  13. Dry your hair naturally. The constant use of blow dryers, hot combs and heated rollers will make your hair dull.

Thanks for the great tips! I especially like #13. I’ve been trying to wean myself off my straightening iron for a few days each week, and it’s really making a difference!
