Simple tips for the perfect hairdo on prom night.

These easy steps can be followed for an elegant up-do, or a more casual

“some-up-and-some-down” look.

The tools you will need are as follows:

  • One cloth covered rubber band
  • Bobbi Pins (a lot)
  • Hot Rollers
  • Flat iron “if you are wearing some down”
  • Rat-tail comb
  • Hair spray
  • Lots of ornamental hairpins, such as rhinestones, pearls, glitter, flowers, or whatever complements your dress

Step One: On clean, dry, hair, determine how much of your hair your want up, and put it into a rubber band.

Step Two: With your rat-tail comb, now would be the time to use the pointy end to lift height where you want it and gently pull out soft stands of hair around your face or neck.

Step Three: Set lots of hot rollers on the hair in the ponytail. (If you were wearing some down, now would be the time to hot roller, or flat iron the loose hair to suit your taste).

Step Four: Take the rollers out when they are cool, lightly spray the curls, and then give them a few minutes to dry.

Step Five: Begin to separate the curls into many smaller curls, and gently pin half of the curl in place, leaving some of the ends loose and bouncy. Continue with this process, scattering them all around the crown of your head until you have achieved a look you want.

Step Six: Now for the fun part. Insert the decorative pins anywhere and everywhere you want them to show.

Step Seven: Finish with a generous spray all over, let it dry, and marvel at how beautiful you look for a memorable evening.

Step Eight: Don’t forget to take pictures!
