Maxiglide vs.. Chi for Black Women’s Hair?

Is the Maxiglide better than the Chi? I would like to know your views on this.

I know that the Maxi-glide is great for straightening a natural hair for Black women but what about the Chi? From what I read so far, the Chi is much smaller than the Maxiglide. It’s easier to use especially if your hair is short. The Maxiglide is much more heavier and bigger. Some women complain that it tires them to use the Maxiglide in their hair.

Black women with long hair said that they prefer the Maxiglide to the Chi. However, they do warn that you need to detangle your hair or Maxiglide can damage your hair. The lifetime of the Maxiglide vs the Chi seems to vary from women to women so I’m not really sure which last longer.

Most Black women say that the Chi does not make their hair completely straight, whereas the Maxiglide can make their hair too straight. Natural women seem to favor the Maxi-glide more than the Chi.

There are some downside to using the Maxiglide. The steam feature can get hot so be very careful when using it around your ears and forehead. I have not heard many bad things about the Chi. Remember to keep these hair appliances in a safe place. Putting them in the wrong spot or dropping them can and will break both the Chi and the Maxiglide.

If you have used the Maxiglide or the Chi, I would like to know. Post in the comment section below about your experience. I’ll be happy to read them.
