Watch out, Hair Dryers are very harmful when not used correctly.

Hair Dryers, they perform a very important part of our look, but are they really worth it? Most women use it daily. After all, who wants to go to the office with hair dripping all over you? And who has the time in this busy world to wait for the hair to dry itself? `They might be helping you getting that ‘in’ look today, but what about in the long term?
Hot air, such as the one that come from blow dryers(a.k.a hair dryers) , opens the cuticle layers of the hair. The cuticle constitutes of small overlapping scales that can only be seen under microscopes. Cuticle damage is by far the most common form of hair damage , and can be remedied my using acidic conditioner. But conditioners can only do a limited amount of work, too much hot air will rip the cuticles so far open that conditioners fail to make a difference. If the cuticle layers are damaged too often , the hair looses its strength and breakage will occur.
During blowing, frequent and prolonged exposure to heat damages you hair. In a short span of time you are also subject to get split ends. Now a days girls ranging from 9-12 years of age have split hair. Females are getting split hair not only because of frequent use of hair-dryers but also because of straightening-irons.
Women use Hair Dryers almost daily now. In a survey taken 71% of the women use hair dryers daily(source: WHO). This is not really good for your hair. The thing is that anything used in excess is bad for you and your hair. The key is moderation. Don’t use hair dryers on a very high temperature because that can be harmful. Watch out!

I am so lucky I have naturally curly hair which I keep short so I never use a dryer. In fact I can get away with finger combing it when it is wet and I am good to go.
