Not everyone is born with beautiful hair, but you can make your hair looks healthy, beautiful and shiny. Whether you have long, short, straight, curly or dark hair, your hair should look smooth, silky and shiny.

Hair that is dull, dry, brittle or frizzy is unhealthy and unattractive. Everyday routines such as shampooing, brushing and blow-drying can do great damage to your hair, causing your hair to be dry, brittle and frizzy.

When you shampoo your hair, you should use a shampoo for your specific type of hair. For example, there are people with oily hair, dry hair, normal hair or dandruff hair. If you have permed or color-treated hair, you should use a shampoo specific for chemically-treated hair. Avoid using hair products contain alcohol as it will make your hair very dry and dull. If you are not sure what your hair type is or what type of shampoo to use, ask your hairdresser. Your hairdresser can recommend a specific shampoo and conditioner to keep your hair healthy and shiny.

Never let the dirt and sweat build up in your hair as it makes your hair tangle easily. Be sure to wash your hair with good quality shampoo after outdoor activities, so that your hair looks nice and clean.

You should brush the hair to help improve the shine. Brushing your hair evenly distribute the oils from the scalp throughout the hair shaft. Use a soft bristle brush when washing your hair; do not brush your hair harshly. Make sure you brush your hair 2 to 3 times a day and always brush in downward motion. If you have long hair that tends to tangle on the ends, you should start brushing from the ends to remove any tangles and work up to the scalp.

To have healthy, shining and beautiful hair, you should never brush wet hair. Wet hair is much weaker than when it is dry. Wet hair will break easily if it is not combed gently.

If you have long hair, you should squeeze the excess water from your hair with a towel. You should never rub your hair between the towel to dry because this can cause breakage. You can use a wide-tooth comb to comb your hair and it will not get tangled.

You should not use hair-dryer and curling irons because they can cause severe damage to your hair besides reducing your hair extensions. Blow-drying using a hair-dryer can cause your hair ends to be dry, brittle and frizzy. Keep away your hair from any sources of excessive heat. It is recommended to let your hair dry naturally. Also, you should not set the hair-dryer on high heat because it is very damaging and can cause the hair to split.

You should always remember to wear a cap while swimming in a swimming pool or sea. Chlorine and salt water can cause your hair tangling up.

If you want beautiful and healthy hair, follow the healthy hair practices mentioned and you can see an improvement in the condition of your hair within two to four weeks. There are also several hair-care products in the market that help improving the hair.

Hey, I know, I’m a guy, but I like healthy, shiny, clean hair (my favorite part of a girl) and I have a problem with these steps. I brush my hair in the morning, and the cow-licks won’t go down if my hair is dry. The weight of the water on my follicles is pressuring them down, so i don’t have cow-licks. What do I need to do, CHEN LEE PENG? Please reply fast!

    To Sara,

sometimes we all need to place a deep conditioning treatment in our hair. We can use it overnight and cover our hair, then wash it out in the morning, or if we have a dryer that we can sit under we can place conditioner in our hair and let the dryer help it to penetrate the hair shaft.

Our hair reflects what we eat, so we need to be eating properly. Prenatal pills are excellent for helping to strengthen hair. Over the course of time certain products damage our hair, such as bleach, hair lighteners, chemicals, etc… Take a break from shampoo sometimes to. Simply wash your hair with conditioner. It will get squeaky clean without being stripped.

    Regards,
    Chan
