Are you frustrated with your tangle prone hair? Hair that tangles can be a challenge to deal with on a daily basis. Here are some steps to take to reduce the tendency of your hair to tangle.

Does your hair form an unsightly mass of tangles after you wash it? It can be frustrating to deal with hair that has a tendency to tangle not to mention the extra time it takes to remove them without damaging your hair. Need a solution? Here are some steps you can take to detangle hair quickly and easily.

How to detangle hair: Step One

Choose a moisturizing shampoo designed for dry hair and learn how to shampoo your hair properly. Hair tangles can be the product of rough handling during shampooing. When you wash your hair, concentrate your hand movements around the scalp of your head where the oils and dirt have collected. Manipulate longer hair strands as little as possible during the shampooing process. Pull the shampoo and water down through the longer strands of hair and gently work it through. The less you manipulate your hair, the less tangles you’ll have to deal with.

Apply a high quality conditioner designed for fine, dry hair. Again, apply the conditioner by pulling it down through the hair rather than rubbing it in. You can also consider using a leave-in conditioner for extra moisture and detangling power.

How to detangle hair: Step Three

Dry your hair by patting it with a soft towel. Avoid using any kind of rubbing motion when removing moisture from your hair.

Once the excess moisture has been removed from your hair, use a wide toothed comb to detangle. Use long flowing strokes of the comb. Never brush wet hair for any reason.

If you discover tangles that have already formed, apply a small amount of hair conditioner to the tangle to soften it up. You can also use a spray on detangler or a few drops of rosemary essential oil to help loosen the tangled hair.

How to detangle hair: Step Six

It’s best to dry tangled hair naturally, but if you’re pressed for time, a blow dryer may be your only option. When using the dryer, comb hair gently with a wide toothed comb. Use the lowest heat possible.

As an additional point, never go to bed with wet hair. You may wake up to a head full of tangles.

By taking a few simple precautions when you wash and dry your hair, you can significantly reduce the risk of tangled, unruly hair. Why not give these tangle-free tips a try?
