Find out how to get rid of dandruff with these home-spun cures.
Dandruff occurs when dead skin cells flake excessively from the scalp. It usually is a direct result from a bacterium’s disease or fungus. Unfortunately, once a person gets it, dandruff is hard to get rid of.
If you suffer from this condition, you’ve probably spent major dollars on over-the-counter potions trying to cure it. However, there is an easier way. You can make dandruff cures right in the privacy of your own home for pennies.
Below are a few dandruff cures you can create using common household products. They’re easy to do and also effective. So don’t be afraid to try a few and see which ones work best for you.
Star Olive Oil. Warm up this oil in the microwave oven and massage it into your scalp. Let it sit for twenty minutes. Then brush through your scalp with a hard-bristle hair brush in order to loosen up dandruff scales. Repeat twice a week.
ReaLemon. Massage two tablespoons of lemon juice into your scalp. Rinse it out with water. Then add a solution of one cup water and lemon back into your hair. Repeat this process daily until your dandruff disappears. Your scalp will be clean and smell lemony fresh.
Smirnoff Vodka, McCormick Rosemary Leaves and Mr. Coffee Filters. Add two teaspoons of crushed rosemary into one cup of Vodka. Let it sit for two days. Strain it using a coffee filter. Then massage it into your scalp and let it dry.
Morton Salt. Add three teaspoons of salt into one cup of warm water. Rinse your hair with this potion and massage your scalp. Afterwards, shampoo as usual.
Listerine. If you look on the bottle, you’ll see that the makers of Listerine advertise their product as a dandruff cure. Here’s how to use it. Just was your hair with your normal shampoo and rinse afterwards with Listerine.
Dannon Yogurt. Apply this tasty treat to your scalp and wrap your head in a towel for twenty minutes. Afterwards, rinse clean.
Heinz White Vinegar. Need a dandruff cure and scalp soother? Get it all in one with Heinz White Vinegar. Rinse your hair with it and watch as it goes to work.
Did you know?
At one time, many people used to think that dandruff caused baldness. Now, after much research, we know that it has nothing to do with it. Baldness has more to do with genetics than any flakes falling from your head.
