Herbs for Beauty
Did you know you can use herbs to help you look more beautiful.
Rosemary Gladstar is the lady who founded The California School of Herbal Studies says if you want lush hair to regrow when you naturally lose a hair.
Gladstar says “increase blood flow to the scalp, which nourishes hair follicles” Studies have proven rosemary is the best to put on your hair.
How to make a rosemary hair rinse:
Bring to a boil three cups of water. Add 4-6 sprigs in the boiling water when you take it off the burner of your stove.
Let the water cool as the rosemary permeates itself into the boiling water for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes remove rosemary and put the water that has a wonderful smell.
Put this water into a mist bottle. Lightly spray it on your hair after you wash hair and it is still damp, paying extra attention to scalp and roots.
Massage your rosemary water into your scalp by using your fingertips make little circles all around the head.
Do not rinse this rosemary water out of your hair and then style it as you usually wound or if you were planning on styling it in a new way, feel free to do that.
This mixture will only stay good, provided you keep it in the refrigerator, for up to two weeks.
If you work and have to chauffeur your kids around and just don’t have the time to make our own. You can buy this item: Weleda Rosemary Hair oil $16 at www.usa.weleda.com
Do you find as you age your eyes get puffier underneath them.
The way to get rid of them is with chamomile.
While chamomile is known as the greatest relaxer in organic ways it is also an important anti inflammatory compound which gets rid of puffy eyes.
If this is your problem, but you are too busy to make your own chamomile or you have the money and want to buy it, you can buy: Mario Badescu camomile eye cream $18 www.mariobadescu.com
To make your own:
In one cup hot water, for 10 minutes immerse 2-4 chamomile tea bags (don’t drink the leftovers as it will be VERY strong)
Pour tea to chill in a spray bottle in the refrigerator
Put the chilled tea on cotton pads and put it on your eyes and sit ack and relax 10-15 minutes . Stays good for one week in refrigerator.
