Combing Hair Precautions

Combing hair is a routine activity for all of us. If we do not wash and comb our hair regularly they look dirty, become weak and eventually start falling out. Just like any part of our body, our hair also require proper nutrition. Applying herbal hair nourishing oils on your scalp regularly can keep you away from several hair problems like dryness and dandruff.

Styling and combing of hair is necessary as Hair style reflects personality of the individuals. Every person likes to keep different hair styles and many among us change hair styles every few weeks. Especially teenagers are very fast in acquiring new trends and fashions in hair styles as well as in dresses.

The following are the general hints of combing hair.

  • Always select your comb which can best suit to your hair type, style and convenience
  • Combing should not be done vigorously. It can damage scalp and hair follicles. Such combing is also found and major cause for hair fall in men.
  • Combing should not be done in wet hair. Applying little oil after drying with towel makes combing smoother and healthier.
  • Always comb in the direction of hair and not in opposite direction. This prevents early hair fall.
  • Regular rough combing in backward direction may result in traction baldness
  • Frequent careless and rough combing can permanently damage scalp and hair follicles. This is usually common among people who carry over conscious about their hair styles. They carry pocket comb with them and try to comb every now and then. Combing 2 or 3 times a day is enough excess is harmful.
  • Never use sharp toothed combs. What is the fun in using new fancy shaped combs when they are causing serious damage to your scalp? Use only soft toothed combs which can massage your scalp gently while you comb.
  • Never press comb too hard on your scalp while combing. Combing is not the best idea to get rid of itching on your scalp. You may be injuring your scalp and damaging the hair follicles.
  • Make sure your clean the comb before use
  • Avoid sharing your comb. Every individual should have their own separate comb. Sharing comb sometimes results in transferring of certain skin diseases.
  • Never use harsh chemical hair colors or shampoos. They can permanently destroy your hair.
  • Always try to prefer cleansing shampoos over conditioning shampoos. They contain fewer chemicals than conditioning shampoos.
