One of the best easy at home hair masks you can do for your hair. Want to grow long beautiful hair and strengthen your locks? Try this recipe out!
For very dry or damaged hair
- 1 banana
- 2-3 dollops of mayonnaise
- 1 tbls of olive oil
Put banana in blender and puree until completely smooth.
(Whatever you do make sure you puree it the first time I skipped this part and I had clumps
of banana in my hair which sucked, so make sure you get the banana mixture completely smooth
you really don’t want clumps of banana in your hair.
The great thing about this recipe is
that even if you do mess up and get clumps in your hair it’s just banana and a second rinse
or mash will get it out.
Then add mayo and oil and blend until smooth and creamy.
Apply to hair. Let sit for 15-30 minutes.
Rinse with warm water and shampoo as usual.
This Banana Hair mask will make your hair so moist and smooth you’ll think you
suddenly have a completely new head of hair. It’s a must try.

I loved the recipe, but instead of leaving it in my head for 30 minutes i left it in my head for 2 hours. Th only thing i dd not like is that even after i washed my hair there was a unpleasant odor in my hair. What i liked is that it made my hair really soft.

It made my hair all clumpy and wasn’t very nice when wet, even when dried it was a little softer but not much.
I didn’t like it at all, also the smell was bad.

Loved it. If the smell bothers anyone you should skip the Mayo or add essential oils like Sweet Almond Oil.

It’s true!!! You gotta make it really smooth or you will be sorry! I added a well mashed ripe avocado for moisture and a beaten egg for protein I used sweet almond oil and honey as well. I have natural afro hair and this made my hair so smooth and soft.

i’ve been doing this for the past three years. amazing results for those with dry thick and damaged hair. i use an egg instead of the mayo. and i spritz my hair with water to make it damp before applying the mask. wear a shower cap for 30 minutes before shampooing off. the cap helps to generate warmth which in turn enables the hair to lock in the moisture and goodness of the mask!
get rid of the smell by using a very small amount of any nice smelling hairspray or leave-in-conditioner after washing hair.

i forgot to mention that if you mix in the juice of half a lemon with the mask, your hair will feel glossy and shine incredibly. lemon also restores the PH-balance of your scalp and gets rid of dandruff!

If you use banana baby food, you still get the benefits without having chunks of banana in your hair (if you don’t own a food processor). It works great.
