These 10 steps can lead you from drab, frizzy hair to gorgeous healthy hair in one to two washings!
-
Leisure Time
This hair washing method can take a bit longer than your normal routine, so you want to make sure you do it at a time you aren’t going anywhere and avoid times when others are trying to use the shower
-
Wet Hair with Piping Hot Water
When you wet your hair with the hottest water you can stand, it allows the nutrients in your shampoo to soak in better
-
Choosing a Shampoo
Unfortunately for your pocketbook, the cheapest shampoo and conditioner you can find probably isn’t going to cut it. But you don’t have to pay top dollar for your products either. I choose to use Suave, Pantene or TRESemme.
-
Wash Twice, Feels Nice
The first time you wash you hair, it will mostly wash away the dirt and excess oil, so after rinsing the first time, give you hair and second treatment of shampoo and let sit for about five minutes
-
Conditioning
Once you have rinsed your second shampoo treatment, apply a healthy amount of conditioner to your hair and let sit for about ten minutes
-
Rinse with Cold Water
Once you have finished you conditioning treatment; be sure to rinse the product out with cold water. The hair will hang onto nutrients from the conditioner and your hair will be much smoother when it dries.
-
Put Down your Blow Drier
The heat from a hair dryer can be very damaging to your hair and create breakage and split ends over time. As often as possible, try to towel dry your hair.
-
Brushing
When you go to dry your hair, don’t brush it right away. Wet hair is more susceptible to breakage so you should wait until your hair is only slightly damp before you brush it.
-
The Next Time you Wash
If you tend to go a few days between washing your hair, you can skip this step and repeat the previous steps. But if you wash you hair everyday, or every other day, you should alternate this method with washing with only conditioner. Conditioner has many of the same properties of shampoo and it will keep your hair and scalp from drying out. Remember to wet with hot water and rinse with cold.
-
After Products
If you tend to have frizzy hair once it dries, you may want to apply a small amount of anti-frizz or leave in conditioner while your hair is still wet. Then when you go to brush it (after you have waited for it to be slightly damp) the product will have soaked in and wont just come off on your brush.
