God’s Skilled Parenting

This article is about the sacrifices a devoted parent makes, to display love for their child. God is our perfect example of this!

A good parent instills within their child, a secure foundation of trust. They attempt, to the best of their ability, to guide him or her in the direction they should go. Also, they strive to set a good example for this child, by teaching them the difference between what’s right and what’s wrong. A devoted parent becomes a safe place to come running in times of need and unconditional love is given beyond measure, regardless of the circumstances. This parent wants what is best for their child and they are willing to lay down their life for them.

This is the exact same scenario with God, in the relationship he shares with his own children. He wants only what’s best for us and he pours out an unconditional love, far greater than any earthly parent is capable of giving. It’s hard to imagine, but our loving, heavenly Father allows his children to go through extremely painful experiences, for the sole purpose of strengthening our dependence upon him. Outside of this bond with the Lord, it’s impossible to find sustaining comfort or healing anywhere else but on our knees, before his throne. In an entire lifetime, we will probably never fully understand why it has to be this way, for most of us. Yet, Jesus Christ himself, while his hands and feet were nailed to that degrading cross, cried out, ‘My God, why hast thou forsaken me?’ For the first time ever, God had to turn away from Jesus, because the sins of the entire world were placed upon him. Christ who was sinless, gave himself as a human sacrifice, God’s perfect lamb was slain for your sins and mine. He laid down his life for the world!

    We all need unconditional love
thank God he forgives when we don’t do as good a job with our children and hopefully the kids will forgive us as well
as we try and do our best with what we have.

God is our loving father. We can always talk to him & he always listen. I wish parents will learn how to set bounds to their children as god gave us his roles. Too many children today think they can do as they wish.
