For Women Only

Clean women are most beautiful women.

Makeup styles evolve as fashion does. But behind the trends, would you believe that some makeup techniques never change? With a stroke of a brush or dab of color, you can often work magic on less than perfect facial features or improve those that are great to begin with.

Here are some tricks of the trade:

  •  To make small lips look larger – Apply a little Vaseline or lip gloss to the middle bottom lip, which brings the lips out, making them look large.
  •  To make large lips look smaller - Use the deeper colors in your palette (deep colors make the lips recede) and stick to a matte formula. Keep away from shiny glosses.
  •  To Create the Effect of Matte lips without using Matte Lipstick which can be drying – Apply a regular lipstick and blot with a tissue. While the tissue is still stuck to the lips, sprinkle loose powder over the tissue, and then gently pull off. The powder will sift onto the lips and adhere when the tissue is removed.

  • To tone down a dark already purchased blush – Apply a blush as usual, and then top with face powder, blend together with a blush brush.
  • For Eyes too close together – Open up your eyebrows for plucking out a few strands of hair on the inside corners.
  • For Eyes too far apart – Bring your brows “in” with a brow pencil to “close” the area just a bit.
  • For wayward eyebrows – Hair spray on a brow brush or an old toothbrush will keep in place.
  • For puffiness under the Eyes – Use a concealer one shade darker than your skin tone right on and direct under the swollen or puffy area. Apply your usual concealer (one shade lighter than the skin tone) in the corner directly under the eye. The dark shade will make the puffy area recede, and the light/dark contrast will definitely give an optical illusion of less puffiness.
  • To reduce appearance of a Large Nose – Lightly blend a concealer one shade darker than your skin tone onto nostrils only.
  • If your Makeup looks washed-out in summer – Bronzing makeup to the rescue. Apply as you do any foundation, blending especially carefully, as the bronze will be a different color than your skin. You can also perk up your summer look by turning again to your lip palette; pinks, corals, browns, terra-cottas, brown-pinks, brown-reds, and brown-corals are great looks for summer.
  • If you wear glasses – Glasses do magnify the eye colors you are wearing. For day, stick to the more natural colors in your palette, and for evening, go all out with color your eyes will look huge.
  • Special Concern for women of color – No special concerns, really if you stick to your palette.
  • For small lids or Asian eyelids – Blend dark taupe shadow just above and into the natural crease which will give the illusion of wonderfully deep-set eyes.
  • For every pale lash – If it’s too difficult to get the mask wand into the lash base, fill in lashes with eyeliner. This works well for lower lashes.
  • For super evening coverage – To extend coverage, apply a foundation once and let dry. Apply a second layer, and then brush on loose powder. Let it set while you do your eyes, then brush off excess powder with the brush.

  • If your eyeliner looks too harsh – Apply a light touch nude, bronze or taupe eye shadow over the liner for a soft, smoky effect rather than harsh, 60’s type definition.
