Ban That B.O.
Homespun tips for smelling fresh at all times.
Want to smell fresh at all times? Keep these easy to follow tips in mind and life will indeed be a bed or roses.
- Use colognes generously. Just splash them on. Colognes and Eau de Toilette constitute mainly of water, or are a mixture of alcohol and water, with only 2-5 per cent perfume. They are lighter and leave a light lingering fragrance. You can even add colognes to bath water as a last rinse. It also has a cooling effect.
- Soda bicarb or baking soda helps to prevent body odour. Make a paste of baking soda and water and apply on problem areas like underarms. For more effective results, add lemon juice to this paste. Leave on for ten minutes and wash off with water. Mixing a little baking soda with your talcum powder and applying that on the armpits or on the feet helps.
- Rub potato slices on problem areas.
- Vinegar, especially apple cider vinegar, helps to ban BO. Soak cotton wool pads in it and apply under arms and on feet, the key problem areas. Or add it to your bath water to use as a last rinse.
- Add 1 tsp alum to your bath water. You can also crush some mint leaves to it for added freshness.
- Rose water as always is a welcome addition to your bath water because it’s a natural coolant and also very fragrant.
- Add 2 drops of tea tree oil to 2 tbsp of water or rose water. Apply this on your armpits with a cotton wool.
- To remove odour from the hair, ad the juice of a lemon and half a cup of rose water to a mug of water. Use as a last rinse.
- As an emergency measure, pour cologne on clean cloth. Wrap the cloth around your hair brush and comb through. This not only adds fragrance but also removes oil and dirt.
